About Your Donation

Your donation is tax-deductible

We are a 501(c)(3) organization recognized as a nonprofit, charitable organization. Your donations to us are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please check with your tax advisor regarding your specific tax situation.

Almost 100% of your donations go to those in need

We are a volunteer organization with almost no overhead. Our volunteers pay their own travel expenses to Haiti. We have no paid staff. Our main expense is hosting  our website. That means nearly all of your donations go directly to those you want to help – House of Hope, Beraca Medical Center, and the poor of Port-de-Paix.

Your donations really do make a difference… we succeed in Haiti.

Most organizations fail in Haiti because they do not understand the local environment. They do not know how to get help to those who need it most. Our president, Renel Noel, and many of our board members have strong ties to Haiti. They know how to circumvent the problems that cause other organizations to fall short of their goals. For example, we do not simply ship goods to Haiti. We go with them and oversee every step of the process to make sure everything goes where it should go.

About donating to a specific programs.

If you wish to be a major benefactor for a specific program or project, please contact Kathleen Monahan at kathleen@friendsofhumanity4haiti.org. We also honor the wishes of our supporters who prefer to contribute to a specific category of need, such as food. We cannot always do this for smaller donations,
